Java Plug-in
Included in the JRE1.3 is the Java Plug-in that enabled you to write applets and access JavaBean components that take full advantage of the Java 2 SDK. Before the plug-in, you had to wait until the browser vendor (Netscape or Internet Explorer) released a new version of their product that supported the latest version of Java. By simply including the tag EMBED in your HTML page, you tell the browser to load the plug-in software or to display a dialog telling the user to download it.
